Dr Paris Papagianis
PhD (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
Paris is a scientist and a communicator. She is passionate about conducting patient-informed medical research and is a founding invited member of the Biomedicine Discovery Institute (BDI) Community and Consumer Informed Research Committee.
Paris has collaborated with government bodies, not-for-profits, charities, and consultancy groups, some of which have funded her work and continue to support the translation of her research, ensuring its impact and community engagement with those in need.
Paris is a mentor across multiple programs within and external to Monash University, including the Biomedicine Scholars Program and the BDI Early Career Mentoring Program. She was also chair of the BDI Early Career Researcher Committee (2023-2025), which oversees five subcommittees, including career development, communications and industry engagement.
Externally, Paris is a volunteer in the Raise Program, which offers mentoring to in-need high-schoolers. Importantly, Paris actively seeks guidance from her own mentors within and external to Monash University.

Paris’ passion for communicating science to broad audiences is evidenced by more than 12 invited presentations at national or international conferences. Of note, in 2024, Paris was invited to Auckland University in New Zealand to run and facilitate a forum about the early career workplace environment, focused on improving workplace satisfaction, culture and team building exercises.
